Yo!

I know this might sound crazy... but I ordered a black MPC 1K on December 20th and am now starting to notice I should have got a blue one just because the colors are more "me". I understand how ridiculous it sounds but I see an MPC as a life-long sorta deal and would rather have one that fits my feng shui.

I am looking for a one-for-one swap of my black MPC 1K. Live in Texas!

Holler back.

If you trade for a 1000 blue, you will end up buying extra pads. That's $180 from MPC Stuff plus postage.

For that you could probably take it down to a local car spray shop and have it professionally done, and still have change for a cup of tea. And that's only if you don't decide to buy some spray paint and clear laquer to do it yourself for about $30 (I'm English that's a rough guess).

Also consider the age of the blue units. Even from new I've had to replace tact switches within a couple of years on my black unit and I pride myself on being careful with gear. You would honestly trade something brand new for a unit that's essentially a couple of years old at best?

Please, think logically. Colour won't affect your workflow and for a fraction of the cost you can make it look as blue and red as you want.

If you're serious I live in Dallas and i just bought a blue one. It looks badass but I'm currently more frustrated with the pads than anything, if you're looking to do the upgrade yourself than I'll trade with you. Let me know

that does sound a little crazy!!!! If you're really inspired by the way the machine looks then why not just take the casing off and spray a funky design on or something? you can get a paint company to stencil the markings back on top too :) then you get a unique MPC without the shitty pads that came with the earlier model! winner!
