drummer needs to hear click track live but ONLY the drummer

We are a 3 piece band guitar, bass, drums, but have written a couple 2 guitar parts, mostly layers and wanted to play them live.

I have:

MPC2000XL with only stereo outs

How can we pump the extra layers through the Sound System and monitors and at the same time send a click track to ONLY the drummer? Do i need to get the 8 outs for this or is there another way?

u need to get the outs. its really the only way. there good to have later for if u are gonna be recordin down the road.

I figured as much. I've had my MPC for a while now but have never thought of using it in this type of situation.... Thanks! So would i just run a click on a a different channel like 3&4 and the main tracks on 1&2? Right?

yeah u can run it to anyone of the 8s. it doesnt have to be stereo.

With just the stereo outs you could pan the click to just the left output & everything else to the right, so you are using them like two separate mono outs.......

GReat Idea! I don't think an extra guitar track need to be stereo. I think i will try this and see how it goes...
