Turntable into Mixer EQ, then back to MPC 1000?

my mixer has 4 channel inputs (channel 4 is for turntable input). it also has L/R Main Out, along with a seperate L/R Aux Out.

Here is what I want to do:

1) Play my turntable through channel 4, so that I can EQ drum breaks and samples

2) Record the wet EQ'd signal into my MPC 1000 record ins


HERE is the problem, I have my mackie speakers plugged into my Mixers L/R Main Outputs, so am I suppose to run from the mixers AUX outs into my MPC 1000's record ins? then mute Aux for channels 1-3?

sounds about right, I recently had to do the same thing. I've got a 4 ch mixer/eq aswell.. I patch from the turntable, into ch 2 on my mixer, run that channel through the eq and then use the rec out on the mixer to the rec in on the mpc.

additionally, after i separate the L and R channels and chop the sample, I go one step further and set the output of my chops to the 1-2 output on the mpc - then back into the mixer ch3 where I fine tune the eq and send it back to the mpc via the record in's. then on the input of the mpc i throw on 2 filters, and set the output of the "rec in" to 3-4, which is patched to my alesis multimix. The goal of this setup was to have the samples recorded on a separate channel than the mpc drum sounds, when recorded on my DAW. hopefully i didn't make this post to verbose ahah
