so i got a roland td4s drum kit a while ago & instead of getting a td-10 sound module for all the outputs i decided to get maschine hoping i could play my beats on my roland kit instead of punching on the pads..

is this even possible cause when i put the midi out of the kit into maschine it just plays different pitches of the drum selected on the maschine?

that's basically the kit

i know i should have probably looked into it before i got it but since i'm a drummer i really just enjoy playing the kit, nothing beats playing real roland-808 on a roland kit, sounds n feels awesome

no you can't, it's quite simple, all you can do is tweak the drums, pitch em ect in the module

it's got midi ins & outs & audio outs

it's got roland 808 & 909 but i really wanna get 707 cause it's prob my fav roland kit

i was gonna get a module upgrade because u get alot more kits and every drum has its own audio output so it'd be really sweet for recording / tweaking all into their own channels but i decided to go all vst n try n run it thru maschine. but i'm not sure if this is going to work now :?

Hmm is it just a case of assigning things correctly in Maschine? By the sounds of it the module is correctly sending out the MIDI data, so surely the problem must lie elsewhere? Anyway I will stop taking this off topic and wish you luck. It'd be cool to see a youtube video if you do manage to get everything working!

There was a thread way back about this subject but the guy was playing sounds from the MPC on his eDrum kit. So yeah its possible to do it. Not sure about Maschine but if you find that thread, you can at least know a few parameters. If your module has MIDI then it can be done.

Hmmm...I can't recall right now, but I do remember that it was back in 2010 in the MPC Studio Enviroment section and it was something about V-Drum set and the MPC. It was like 2 or 3 pages long and a couple drummers knew how to set it up, I think it was Coz or cozy that had their e-drums midi'd to a 2000XL.
