Step editing - event timing on mpc-1000

Hi,
Newbie question here. If I am step editing, how to I change the timing of an event. The manual tells me to just use the cursor keys to select a field and use the wheel to edit. This works on all fields except the timing field. When I scroll on this field it just brings me to the next event.

Please help!

This has been covered in excrutiating detail in the MPC1000 forum: it's one of the most-missed features. So far the only way is to copy-and-paste the events, and delete the original.
Another missed feature is a track level setting, to balance things out when the mix gets complex...
