From AKAI's Facebook page:

"Tonight at Midnight (EST) we will change the way you make music forever"

Any ideas on whats in store? Wasn't the last time they did anything relevant was when they invented the MPC?

Been a few threads where things like this have been discussed now, in a way I really really want us to be proved wrong. But in all honesty if this even makes me turn my music off to watch a demo video I'll be surprised... as for changing the way I make it... nothing has done that really since I bought Ableton.

a korg kaptivator style video drum machine that also does audio... but cant do audio only samples... max upgradeable ram 224megs.. stock, 8megs... but you also need it connected to an apple brand desktop computer for it to work.. the only way to export your projects is a direct upload to youtube.

seriously though I dunno... I will for sure be checking these forums for the unveiling video related to what they are talking about.

Im expecting a stupid MPC like app that works on the iPad2.

Samples, chops, sequence, etc.

Maybe a few steps better than the iMaschine app by Native Instruments.

Im sure its going to be something cool but not CHANGE music making in any way.
**** outta here Nukai!!!

In your opinion....what type of product could Akai release to bolster their claim regarding changing the way music is made?

No its def. hardware based, shots of it show no computer or screen in sight and it looks to be as large as the 4k in width

I think they do a good enough job of bringing the hate on themselves.

That's a huge claim to actually follow through on. I think it'll probably be a new way to sequence sounds. Perhaps their own take on Tenori-on/Reactable styled sequencing which has that emphasis on a response to your actions visually.
