BTW, regarding support for older MPCs, are we finally going to get an MPC that not only reads old MPC format, but also exports in old MPC format (i.e. 3000/2000/60/akp etc)? I would imagine this shouldn't be too hard to implement now we are moving the OS to PC/Mac environments?
In theory there's so much stuff that can be incrementally implemented now as there's little or no limits compared to trying to cram everything into the small amount of system memory in MPC hardware. What would be cool would be a plug in system with API for third parties to develop new add ons.
This also means, assuming they've nailed the hardware, that there's no need to buy another 'MPC' - just software updates, so cheaper for all users.
Just to reiterate, I am actually very excited about this new MPC, it could be really great, hopefully Akai up their game to cope with ongoing support and development.
