What would u do?

Hi beatheads,
3 years ago i sold my mpc1000 and my whole music-equip. but it's so hard to live without making music - so i decided to start again and build-up a studio in my basement.

i not enjoy only making music with my computer... so i def. need a "hardware-centre" in my studio.

as i saw the 2500se i felt in love immediately. i told my friends and they told me they sold their mpcs for a NI Mashine...

when I did research, it looked like there's no rational argument for a mpc 2500se...

is that true?

(i know, there're a lot of mpc vs. mashine threads out there but i never saw 2500(se) pro arguments (besides workflow) .. so i thought mpc-forum is the best way to ask

I've had both, both good pieces...but I ended up keeping the mpc.

it depends on how you like to work.

but generally, no, there is no rational argument for getting an mpc in this day and age.

but i got one over maschine because:

1- i too stopped making music for a while and when i came back to it, i didnt want to sit infront of a computer when composing. for mixing down, yeah the computer kicks ass, but for composing i prefer being away from a keyboard and mouse.

2- while i stopped making music, i started lessons on traditional instruments and enjoyed playing live alot more than what i used to do before, which was sit infront of a computer writing music. so the mpc was a cross between the two for me,... sometimes the computer can feel too much like programming and not enough like i'm making music. the mpc covers both nicely.

3- its fun,... i wanted something i could play live, and pad controllers + pc just had too much latency for me as i play drums.

those 3 things meant the most to me, but to others it might not mean much, so it really does depend on what you're after,.... if money is tight but you want pads and you dont mind sitting infront of a pc and you like having everything in your pc at your fingertips and having unlimited options, then a maschine or a pad controller would be perfect and yeah there is no reasonable argument for an mpc.
