Looking at the Triton extreme or Motif 6 is it worth the extra cash to step up to 76 or 88 keys? I also have the opportunity to purcase a proteus 2k with the mo phatt rom for more than have the cost. The left over money can go on moving up from the DPS16 to the 24. What do you MPC Heads think?

A. Is the 76 or 88 worth the loot?

B. Go with the proteus 2K spend the extra cash at the strip club?

c. Save cash with with protues and step up to the DPS24?

Btw:
Music style is R&B and hip hop.

Thanks in advance

I would just get the 61 keyboard cause the extra keys are not gona make a different most of the keys you will be using are gona be around middle "c" any ways. most of those extra keys you would have by getting a 76 or 88 are too low or hi pitch and wont really be used like that so you wont miss them and could still use them by just changing the OCT. of the keyboard. People who get 88 keys want that real piano feel with the hammer action. Most will say that its hard to freak a beat with weighted keys anyways. The 61 key will be just fine plus a lot lighter if ever needed to pick and take somewhere.

im not too sure about the protues cause i have never used one but i can tell you the motif es is the strongest keyboard effect wise on the market. Out of the box i think wave rom its also the strongest(i think the fantom is first once fully loaded). The reason i love the motif is cause of its realistic sounds and wav rom. I have a lot to choose from and have alot of good samples to create my own patches too. I think one who will only be using the motif es for its sounds could pretty much skipp over what ever keyboard comes for the next 5 or so years. All you need a great represention of a sound and your good. I think when people who buy music listen to songs they are not saying "that song sounds like shyt cause thats not how a real piano sounds". Since i feel the motif es gives me alot of the best sounding realistic sounds i know i will be good with this board for a few good years and then some. Effect wise well it is the strongest cause you can have 8 tracks retain its effects and to me thats a big deal cause ont he fantom xr you still only get 3 effects and on the triton you get 5 im not sure about the protues. Why is this a big deal to me? well just cause if i create a sound and i want it to sound this or that way i know i have enuff insert effects(with 8) to not run out of. I just like the motif es. Not matter what people say about it being a hard keyboard to learn, i say never let another mans smarts or dumbest decide on what you can or cant learn. I like the new triton but i wouldnt touch it. Just like last year i smell something fishy over at korg and i had a feeling they was gona put out a new keyboard so i wouldnt touch a triton classic, even when it was on sale. i have a feeling that korg is gona come out with a new keyboard tha wont be name Triton. Its gona should be at winter namm in jan. or the next summer namm. Just think about it all the new blue triton is, is old triton fully loaded so that gives a reason to think that korg is just juicing the triton for all its worth and are gona drop something else new soon. Look at the price drop on the thing(from 2199 to 1899) i dont think the things is really putting up high sale numbers!

If you play the keys you'll hate the 61 key... not enuff room to move around.... if you don't, the 61 will be fine.... me i play the keys, me playin a 61 key feels cheesy, cuz i can't run my scales like i want to and stuff..... I have a 88 key Motif right now, but i'm bout to step to a 76 key Motif ES
