I think this is prolly going to be pretty dope, I wonder if its going to have the ability to have patch names for hardware Like Dp or Cubase.

Im sold on it Ill get a hole new lap top just to run this and keep my Daw my Daw.

Only thing that worries me is if its going to have any latency issues. I know the new computers are really good and barley noticeable, But I NOTICE! There is def still slight timing thing going on compared to hardware.

But I would deal if I could rock a MPC with a MIDI patch Bay!

Does Maschine have latency issues?

Does latency prevent numerous producers from creating music with their DAW?

i'm not really sold on this product yet... the MPC Renaissance will only be as good as the included "MPC software" is... and AKAI have proven themselves to be rather half-ass at programming operating systems in the past [as well as not maintaining them current with constant bug fixes & updates]. in the rare case that the software is actually good & useful, with the renaissance being merely a controller i don't see why you couldn't just use the software with an actual hardware MPC. time will tell how useful this thing is... i'm keeping my "real" MPCs for life though.

there are no latency issues with maschine peeps make a meal out of that its bollocks.

when i press a pad i hear the sound at the same time there is no delay.

this unit is fire akai look like they have comback to they roots with the styling of the controller akain to the 3000/200xl and 60 mk1.

love the fact u can sample direct into it and that it runs vsts , this shit looks like a big hit.

as long as the software is quick and allow i dont see how it can fail the controller is the best ive seen for a midi controller as far as it looking like real hardware.

im thinking my maschine will be getting sold off shortly

WOW Didnt Mean to Ruffle your ass Feather's!

As Far as Machine I never bought one or even bothered to play with one, it looked like junk. ( thats just me though ) Dont get all salty!

As far as Latency no it doesn't stop people from making good music, But what is your point, Latency isn't a concern because you can still make good music. Thats silly bro, Your just trying to troll me cuz you think Im some Newb.

Ive used DP, Protools, Reason, FL, Ableton to Seq and there is a big difference between them and hardware. The MPC's response is slightly better. Im not saying that the computer is bad or that it cant be used but there is a difference. Shit Dude I use both depending on how im feeling.
My only point was for How I would like to use MY GEAR, and how I would like to have MY STUDIO work for ME, thats an issue, but a small one.

Its all personal preference.

word. so ifs it not standalone, there is no cpu or hard drive in the box itself? so its essentially a big keyboard/controller with ins and outs?
are those presonus inputs in place of a card reader?
hopefully they used something other than cheap plastic for the box.

and 3000/60/emu emulator... isnt that a free plug in?

Umm, I honestly don't think that's going to happen, even if MPC Renaissance is a good product (which we don't know yet.) I hope it is though.

By the way, I don't think that MPC Renaissance and MPCs (as Midi Producttion Center) are really competitors. MPC Renaissance's competitor is Maschine.

When I first saw this I thought Akai really brought the two worlds together. To have a true MPC that can control a software studio that was designed specifically for it would be brilliant. To me, using the MPC name is in poor taste. It apeals to a very specific group of people. I imagine it was their way of inviting, or winning over, the old school users to their new line of products. Boo.

I was thinking in terms of people selling off their MPC's, (if the Renny is successful) and flooding the market - therefore bringing the price down. just speculation though
By JVC Fri Jan 06, 2012 8:38 pm
Well, I still don't think that'll happen at all, but let's hope that the MPC Ren is that good.

Controller starts with a C though, lol.

But MPC's need to move forward or stay stagnant. No company wants to stay stagnant. a decent company will try and listen to customers/people but you can't please everyone. What IS a fact is that the software aspect of production is HUGE and I guess Akai wanted to embrace it with MPC's. No matter how much old school mpc'ers wanna stay stagnant products will still move along with technology. Is it a traditional MPC not even, but change is imminent.

Yeah, I see what you mean. Nothing wrong with companies trying to keep up with the times. I guess the only thing that bothers me is the MPC name.

I guess its their name and they can do with it what they want. After all, they earned... I mean, bought it.
