Display problem (akai mpc 2500se)

Almost immediately after purchase of Akai MPC 2500SE I've faced such a problem: there is a white strip (see attached pic.)on it's display. Engineers working in the service center said that this problem was not in it's display, but it is a production defect. Does anyone has any ideas whether it can be repaired by myself or not?

if you just bought it, why are you considering doing anything other than returning it and demanding either another MPC or a refund?
