THE AKAI PRO MPC OFTEN IMITATED NOBODY COMES CLOSE

You put the ad slogan in your sig?

Tutor and the moderators here let alot of this go. That is both good and bad. The bad part is that this site is less professional as you would see like in a Gearslutz Forum. In the Gearslutz Forum, you have professional musicans/producers/artists that visit the forum on a daily basis. Makers of music production gear also frequent the forums and have great relationships with forum members. This isn't possible in this forum.

Note - the Gear Slutz Forum MPC Ren thread has over 12,000 views.

Allow me to dispel a number of your points.

Gearslutz is full of pros you say. Nothing could be further form the truth. The place is absolutely choc full of pretenders spreading misinformation. Its become really bad because myths and heresay is now being touted as fact all over that forum in every sub forum. I could give many examples, but cant be bothered. Just take my word for it.

You think its pro for the Moderator to ban people from the Hip Hop forum where their talking about this product because they dont go there often? Thats what the mod was doing. Did it ever occur to this guy that many of us who use MPCs dont make Hip Hop so will not be in the Hip Hop forum often. Two posters were banned and called trolls for informing him it was a controller and not a self contained unit. Proffessional huh? I thought that was **** crazy, and whoever runs the place should see that guy off immediately because hes on a serious power trip.

Finally you questioned why people question this new product. Someone gave you the perfect answer and said its because every single MPC is analysed feature by feature, comparisons on this forum. That should have explained to you why.

i think this new mpc can fill the void that i had (and still do) when i was asking about a standalone sequencer on gearslutz and you took it upon yourself to troll the thread forever

what a dick

oh yeah i did contact that company and they said they were too small to make a machine like i was proposing.

/end derail

You just didn't want to hear the truth. No company is going to make a hardware sequencer like the one you described. Akai stopped making them in the 80s and Roland stopped in the early 90s. Yamaha stopped making them mid 90s I believe as well.

but your forgetting that the company i contacted was a hardware sequencer making company.

anyway we can just agree to disagree about that.

im stoked about the new mpc and im sure you are too 8)

Supports ... MP3

Great for the sound quality huh..
Akai shouldnt have done that. We need to encourage better sound, not worse Newbies cant be expected to understand MP3s are sh** to use in your production. Nope, they will have no problem loading in 128kbps samples and before you know it that stuff is being released on their bedroom labels. Very sad :(

I'm the one who suggested MP3. I hear you about sound quality. It's just there are times when I really want to quickly chop up a file in MP3 format to see if it works, and not be arsed to convert it to wav. It's just convenience for me.

I didn't say or imply that every member on Gear Slutz is a pro. But way more professionals participate in thread discussions there than in this forum. This is a fact. There are just as many posers and spreaders of misinformation here. Take my word for it. I can give you examples all day. I spend most of my time here because I am an MPC user and this site is dedicated to the product I like...no love. But the constant bickering here? It gets out of hand and now for the first time ever...I use the foe feature. Today was a good day in the forums.

I disagree with you about the guys kicked out of the MPC thread. IMO they were disruptive like several forum members here. So I can have a much more civil conversation there. Put hard feelings aside for a moment. I have used an MPC since 1997 always maintaining at least one. I always buy any new highend MPC. Does this make me a bad person because I am excited about a product some here don't care for? How does me liking something screw up someone else's day? We have forum members here that are offended because I like this new MPC. So offended, they are name calling. Really? This is professional? We have several forum members here who wouldn't like an Akai product no matter what. They spam each thread telling everyone how much they hate Akai and this new product. Is that really necessary? Does that create harmony? Can you honestly call this behavior professional?

If you re-read my posts, I wasn't really asking anyone why they don't like this product. My main question to a few is why are you spending so much time spamming everythread.

Labcoats, I call our exchanges professional. I can communicate with you even if we don't disagree on a topic. But if you call me a name, I am adding you to my foe list. :P

Really? You are in a forum where people sample old dusty records, and songs off of You Tube. These are the types of posts I have to call people out. You do know that Nuendo/Cubase has MP3 support? Did you know Pro Tools has an MP3 option? Logic? Its also supports MP3. This is the type of misinformation that could have newbies believing a product that supports MP3 is less professional. And there are numerous threads here with forum members requesting MP3 reports.

I accept your apology in advance.

You checking out videos on You Tube. And I know some of you have seen these videos numerous times. But....if you can't use your Akai/Numark MPC to bang out like this...don't blame Akai or your MPC. Step your game up:

I can literally smell the oestrogen from here. You are a complete vagina. Indirectly trying to name-call yourself then warning people you will foe them off simply because you're the one who can't actually have a conversation.

Couple that with the irony of you telling anyone they're spamming when you've posted not only in the majority of threads here but apparently also in Gearslutz. Even Tapedeck called you out on that.

You wan't a "professional" discussion, grow a pair and start appreciating that not everybody will immediately seccumb to every product that gets released simply because it's new. There will be questions, there will be concerns.

Looks cool, but theres two major points that worry me:

- The software

- Customer Support

If they haven´t linked up with any major software developer on this, I think theyre screwed. If they cant make a solid, non-buggy OS for simple embedded system, how theyre going to make one for the PC? NI have years of experience in software developing, and that is why Maschine gets CONSTANT updates. What if Ren has the same faith as the 5000? Does Just Blaze have to write something about it before Akai takes notes?

Sorry folks, I just dont believe this will work out as promised, but then again time will tell.

With the exception of VST support what were in the "constant" updates?

@JAH You still preaching about the MPC? You sound like a Jehovah's Witness. You know how atheist feels about the Jehovah's Witness right? We love to wind them up for fun because it's cool to see them get heated over their beliefs.

Do you work for Akai btw? I'd be interested to see your Maschine and hear some of your music. Or do you just collect gear and have no intent of making anything worth listening too?
