Iphone/ipad midi interface

Does anyone have any of these things? Like irig midi or line6 mobilizer.
And does anybody knows if its posible to use the connection kit from apple and then use a usb to midi cable?( if that wil do the same as those above)

I want to buy something like that to use my mpc with my ipad or iphone

I just bought the line6 one. Just got it in the mail yesterday, but been trying to troubleshoot my mic which started humming like crazy while trying to track vocals.
Hope to try it within the next few days

I use the Camera Kit USB with a M-Audio UNO USB midi interface. With the M-AUDIO i'm not limited to just using it with the iPad. I can use it with my laptop etc.

I do like the irig over Line 6 though.

Yes. Haven't tested with Iphone tho, so don't know how it'll work.

Been using it with iPad Animoog -> Yamaha UX16 -> MPC.

Had to plug it, unplug it & restart app a couple of times before the link light would lit up on Yamaha and animoog "saw" it. After that it's been working perfectly.

Edit: If I remember correctly, restarting iPad did the trick...

I have the camera connection kit with the original ipad. I used to use it successfully with my Akai MPK Mini but it stopped working after I upgraded to iOS 5. I'm really bummed out about that.

They decreasd the electrisitie of 30 pin hole in ios 5.
If you have a jailbroken ipad there must be a tweak in cydia that wil undo it.

Just gave this a try tonight and I got the cheapest midi to usb cable I could find..



Had a hard time recording the midi stuff in the mpc but after realizing you should switch the in and out placement on the cable i was on a roll.

Didn't get Animoog to work as I wanted but NLog Pro worked without any hassles..

so it is ios 5, cuz I bought the kit and usb to midi just to find out shit wont work...you got any info on the workaround ?

Have you seen the iConnect MIDI device? It seems like a viable option. The small connection kit seems to work for others though, which is cheaper.

Thanks! I bookmarked that link for whenever I'm able to get an iPod Touch or an iPad for cheap.

iPad 2's are likely about to get cheaper on the overstock and second-hand market. The iPad 3 is supposedly going to be coming sometime in March.
