hey whats up?

i havent bought a new piece of gear in a long while. I've learned the ins and outs of everything I use. I desperately need a new peice. Im leaning towards a rack mount. Somethings with new sounds on it. I have cd's and zips FULL of sounds, but I want another module to use. Any suggestions.

I dont want to spend over $700 but if I dont have to spend over $500 that would be great!!!

can anyone help a brotha out? thanks

An s5000 could turn out to be the best module u've ever had....If ya put the work in.

Try an pin point what kinda sounds your after, then go about your hunt..Perhaps a TR Rack? That would be a good scoop! I use that :-)

Well, for synthesizers, there's a lot of rackmounted subtractive (classic analog style synthesis) ones around.

I saw a nord rack 1 for around $300 the other day on a swedish used gear site, for example.

For virtual analog the only things I'd touch are the Novation stuff or the Alesis Ion or micron.

The nords get really irritating after a while, the waldorf stuff is tight but there is still that weird ultra high frequency content that the nords have and mess with you after a while.

The microKorg has a great sound too, that' probably the best deal for a beginner.

As for real analog, you'll want midi.

theres the Alesis Ion and Micron. they are hot. the micron is like 400 on zzounds. U can also get my synth the ms2000r off of ebay for real cheap. but it only is 1 part multitimbrale.
