Trouble Getting my drums tight w/ the 4k

I've been just recording them and playing live into pro tools. My rhythm is there but its not there EVERY time.. So the result is disreprencies in the drum pattern and the beats don't sound as good.

Is there a step edit/loop function on the mpc 4000 that will make for tighter more accurate drum patterns?

By sequence you mean play 4-8 bars and loop the performance?
Or is there a better/different alternative?
