Hey,

I've just replaced the pads on my old MPC 1000 with the Upgrade Kit from mpcstuff.com and after putting the pads on I realized the MPC wouldn't function (fuzzy screen) with JJOS. After putting the old pads back on, installing the AKAI 2.13 OS, and switching the pads again, I finally have a working MPC again.

However, I would like to run JJOS, and as far as I know JJOS 1 (at least the free one) isn't compatible with the pad upgrade. MPCstuff's website (on the upgrade kit page) mentions that it could someday be compatible with a later version of JJOS. Has that someday come yet, or am I destined to learn the ways of the AKAI OS?

Thanks for the knowledge,

No, because it wasn't just fuzzy - there were lines making it impossible to see what I was doing. Also, the pads didn't seem to be responsive.

The pads has nothing to do with this. I have the upgrade installed with no problems. Try it again.

lines? that's probably an issue of a missing diode and resistor from your pad fix PCB.
akai put out a faulty batch in the first run, you may have ended up with one years later.
take a pic if you can. horizontal lines or vertical?
you may need to contact MPC stuff and describe your problem. that sounds like the issue.

Yes although Nym is right they did have issues early, we have not had the original type boards in over 3 years. Those boards had hand soldered diodes for an after the fact fix they did when they were originally produced. Cant be that. But yes if you are still having issues please contact us. Sounds like you may not have the wires in all the way.
