Price?

Price is a mystery but the driven force behind Akai is not.

I figure it'll be around $799 USD. Since its in competition with NI's Maschine, the $599 price point is already standard. BUT, Akai owns the MPC name which has a history behind it and a model in every studio. Akai will make Maschine look like beginner's gear and the Ren, the professional piece to have in your set-up. Just speculation though.

They are touting this as their "flagship" or "legacy" product.

The last product that held this title was the MPC 5000, retail price $2,500+.

I would guess this new edition will be at LEAST $1000.

Get the MPC 1000 add JJ OSXL. You have a powerful standalone midi production center, and JJ OS turns the MP 1K into the best Midi controller on the planet...IMHO.

I have no plans on coppin the Ren until its tested by the first wave of buyers and a couple of patch updates have occurred.

2000 dollars is way too much for a piece of gear without an internal CPU. Couldn't fade that.

No the MPC Studio model will be the one in competition with NI machine. It will have a similar price and similar features to maschine.

Yeah I was thinking about 1000.

I think $1000 is more than a fair price....even though I wouldn't be mad if it was just a little more.

My price prediction for the new line up. I've taken into account that there is more competition today than in the past, and that Akai needs multiple, distributed price points within their portfolio. Prices are all for US.
