Akai ARE in competition with the Maschine

It's common knowledge to most of us, yet I still see people saying they are not in competition. Proof ....



... there is nothing wrong with competition, but Akai need to have a few tricks up their sleeve to sway the thousands of zeleous Maschine users.

Notice the dislikes.

They have a few! One I heard of was that the pads smell like tangerines...

Their definitely in competition ,no doubt about that. But heres the thing to keep in mind. A lot of Maschine users dont make hip hop. Their in the EDM scene. There's not the same appeal for them at all as the people who like the traditional MPC look. I don't think we will see legions of Maschine switchers. Those that do imho are just about gear. That new thing will finally make me sound ace! In the real world that doesn't happen. and smart people get to know their gear inside out.

Nah, Labcoats is right! Sure there is a lot of Maschine users that do make hiphop, but there are a lot of users that don't. They've got **** Moby doing all the tutorials for Christs sake! Plus the Jeremy Ellis dude and that group Underworld they've got endorsing as well. It's probably somewhere around about 50/50 (meaning hiphop users to non hiphop users).

Empty Sea. There are a lot of Maschine users in both Hip Hop and EDM. My point is those that make EDM wont be in such a hurry to trade up. I did not say there are no Hip Hop artists using Maschine.

I get you now. It's also because it won't be "trading up". Actual standalone hardware/software hybrid would be bringing actual innovation to the table but Nukai doesn't seem to have the balls to make such a move.

They are definitely in competition, with MPC Ren and other upcoming products. No question about it.
Anyway, tt is a GOOD thing for even current Maschine users for NI and Akai Pro having competition! It is good for consumers! I even wish other manufactures to enter this market!

@599 for maschine, why trade anything? if akai lets the mpc studio go for 599 or less just fckn buy both. lolz.

the reason you might get dudes going from maschine to the new mpc line may actually be more for the fact that they have old mpc projects (if they previously owned an mpc).

or if they are a studio, it makes huge sense to buy one of the new mpc for compatability with all previous mpc's.
