Do you plan on purchasing one of the new Akai MPC models?

What types of features/functions would you like to see in the MPC Ren? Keep in mind that the possibilities are endless now that it uses the processing power of your computer and dedicated MPC software for the PC/Mac.

The main feature that HAS to be in the new mpc software is the ability to load all your previous beats completley from any kind of mpc! Especially the 1000/2500/5000.
Nut just samples and sequences, .all with atleast all the basic parameters.

This will make the mpc ren interesting for all existing users and the newcomers, making the whole existing MPC lineup more interseting and up to date since you dont have to track all your beats (which is oldschool nowdays).
And the new mpc's will still have the total benefit of being the ones with the fastest workflow.

Please forward this to Akai if you can!
Btw, i will definetly buy one as long as this feature exsists

Any word of the DAW being compatible with mpc's that have USB?

Akai has already been here for years. They have been listening to a lot of feedback with good and not so good results. The MPC 5000 added over 2 dozen new features many of them directly from this forum. The not so great part is that OS 2 could use a 2.1 update to correct some reported bugs and faster transition between certain modes.

The idea of creating a project on the MPC 5000/2500/1000 and then loading it into the MPC Ren to complete is among my favorite wants.

It has a USB hub built in. So my best guess is that it should see the MPC 5000/2500/1000 when they are connected to your PC/Mac.

I doubt any current USB MPC's have the proper internal architecture to communicate with a computer on a level higher than simple data transfer!

I'm content with my purchases. I don't see a Renaissance in my set-up in the future, at least yet.

I'm kind of disappointed at how companies want to bring everyone to the computer. Its like you can't get in the club without a mac or pc when all you want to do is make beats. I understand the vitality of having a computer and its strengths but most times I just want to huddle up in a corner of a room just me and my machine making beats, now they want me to drag my computer or laptop to this corner and it feels overkill.

If it was a hybrid, I would be all over the Renaissance because I can bang out in peace in the dark and when things become too much to handle as standalone, I can bring it to my laptop and finish it from there.

Or Akai could've made the R's controller to retain the programs and samples you made on the computer in an internal memory so when you unplug the controller from your pc, you can work on your song within the box.

But an iPad type of MPC would've been the bomb.

The 1000 and 2500 have to be placed in USB mode for it to work with the computer rendering functions on the MPC dead. At a guess I'd say no as the MPCs wasn't designed with "controller" in mind.

The same could be said about good press because nobody has seen it or seen it used live.

Given a choice I'd work for NI simply because they have a prosperous future and a long life ahead. Akai are clinging to straws. Wouldn't be a wise career move.

yeah but peeps are optimistic about it,whereas you act as though,you tried it and don't like it and have valid complaints.don't knock it b4 you try it,you just might like it. As far as long life who would have thought AKAI would still be in the game since 87'? they stood the test of time,plus was used by your favor rapper his whole career and then some...I love what N.I. does also,but you have to face it,no company will come with the perfect maschine,(I meant machine).hey man to each his own,I think I would feel more at home with the akai,because I know the sequencer and sampler,so its not much of a learning curve.we'll see what happens when it drops,but at least it give's us a choice rather than settling for whats out there.

I wonder if you every post and thread created by individuals that say that will not buy the MPC Ren were deleted...how many threads/posts will be left in the forum?? I think 75% of the threads would disappear.

I thought it was better to bump this. As the studio seems to be getting a lot of interest now.

While the Studio is quite nice, im still for the big one and cant wait to have it in my hands. I was so close to buy a 2K5 SE today (since the last ones are on sale here in Germany) but my lust for the Ren is just too big right now. So please Akai bring it on
