Okay, so now, on to deconstructing the next bold statement: "MPC 1k is more powerful than Maschine". Powerful in which way?

I just found out that JJ OS can pack a program and its samples into 1 file! Its called a .pac file.

This is exactly what Maschine users have been wanted for the past few years....

Any limitations with these .pac files? Or is this waaaay off topic?

MPCWeapon1 wrote:A MPD cost what $300. This is a better controller with a sound card..that's $500-$600 right there. A good DAW cost about 300-$500. So somewhere around $1000 is about right.

If the sound card has high end converters...1000 dollars would be a bargain.

Yeah, and if it ships with a toilet made out of gold, it would be an even bigger bargain.

Ok.....let's talk about Maschine's sequencer resolution. It's never really talked about. I need an expert to tell me what it is because then number I came up with is shocking..

I am pretty sure NI didn't forget about the stop button. The play button also functions as a stop button. At least on mine it does.

Its not just having a typical stop button. It is not typical of a standard transport but you can live with it. The problem is there is no function to stop a long shot samples when they are triggered. Recent MPCs allows you to press the stop button 2-3 times and the sample will stop. This is what has frustrated some Maschine users. Older MPCs implemented a dedicated panic function to send all notes off to MIDI gear. This is important as you can get stuck notes when dealing with MIDI.

Ok, that's a valid point.

I did a new test with Maschine with much better results. It tells me that Maschine is no better than 96 ppqns. I recorded a sequence inside my Fantom using 96 events, all different notes, and 1 note per step. I recorded it into Maschine using USB (64 samples, 13.1 ms latency). All 96 events were recorded accurately within a range of a quarter note.

I am just having issues with recording the same note on consecutive steps. It still seems some notes are not being recorded. More to come.

DJ Hellfire wrote:The work around I use for maschine not having a sample stop button is just setting long samples to ADSR as soon as I load them. Then switch it back to one shot after chopping.

Of course that is well detailed in the NI Forum along with all the other work-arounds. :P

Maybe you have to update your Flash or something.

I own Maschine although I am a diehard MPC user. I like that site because a lot of the things that are posted here wouldn't be allowed to go on over there. When we have the versus type threads...everything is fair game. But when we have a positive thread about MPC X and then someone starts spamming the thread with "I hate Akai and your MPC suks" that gets old after awhile.
