MPC Studio vs MPC RENAISSANCE

Seems like more folks are interested in the studio - although prob too early to tell for sure.

for me, studio looks like its winning:

1.price will be in the sweet spot
2.same software
3.extremely portable
4.enough knobs and buttons to not be limited enough to go for the ren
5.minus the interface
6.akai equivalent to maschine
7.overall better look and color scheme, looks like it will match macbooks.

It looks sweet!

Though studio looks sweet and totally portable. I would still go for the renaissance for my vote. For the card, tilt screen and number of controllers. If I was just starting then the studio would be enough.

I knew my prediction would come true. In the Summer, there will be thousands of Versus threads. My Studio looks sweet...your Ren is ugly, bloated and cost more...and it doesn't have any added functions. You have a built in sound card? So what! I bought an Apogee Duet2 and MPC Studio and still came out cheaper than you did.

Like before the MPC studio is sweet and maybe get a rash of ex mpc/current maschine users running back to the mpc camp. I'm in favor of the renaissance cuz as a current mpc 4k, APC40 and maschine user I actually like the idea of a large controller with dedicated buttons and knobs. And when it comes to third party plugins the more the merrier if they are all mapped out. Small controllers are portable, convience, and cheaper for users. But just like my mackie universal the more controls I have, the more mouse free I am. And as far as looks I don't care because I wouldn't be taking it anywhere except to another studio if that.

Im definately one of those mpc/maschine users that will buy the studio. But my situation may be differant than others. I'm traveling now, so portability is huge - so maschine made sense and thats why the MPC Studio will make sense. And hopefully Ill get that same computer integration maschine has, portability, and be able to load all my old mpc projects.

Got to admit tho, all those dedicated knobs look sweet.

That's cool portable, sleek, stylish and one of the most enduring sequencer/samplers on the market. In fact part of me wants both.

Ok, first up "hello everyone, I'm new '' Ok. got that out the way...

A few months or so ago (time goes fast so I can't really be more exact) I ordered an MPC studio silver from Andertons Music in Guildford, UK... then I got an e-mail saying that they had been discontinued and I had 2 choices, a full refund or wait for the new MPC studio black.... So I decided to wait for the black one...

3 weeks later, I got an email saying that in a couple of days they were sending them to the store and if I still wanted on... which I did.... As I had paid £279.99 for the silver they said I didn't have to pay any extra..

Anyway, I ended up being pretty much one of the first people in the UK to have the MPC studio black.

I never had used an MPC before... I have only been doing Music Production for about a year and after getting sick of trying to sample inside Logic Pro X, I decided to make the swap..

The dude at Andertons told me over the phone that 'As I have an iMac and MIDi shit' I didn't need to buy an MPC and it would be a waste of money and that my iMac could do anything that the MPC does... but I still wanted on... Yeah he may well be right.... most sequencers can do the same shit, they just have a different way of doing things.....

Anyway....After a month on the MPC studio black. I love it..... Made some amazing beats...

So yeah they rule
