I'm in daydream mode here, but the Studio coupled with its own OS and a 64gig SSD would have been killer! 8)

cosign and to keep it slim, iPad like battery and power consumption. 8-10 hours on one charge.

Mike Boogie wrote:I'm making a write-up the whole new lineup soon but my question is

How are the MIDI in's and out's going to work??

Are they 5-pin MIDI to 1/8in barrel jacks?

Unless the MPCStudio has 1/8 Jack outputs for 1/8 to Midi adapter cables like the Line 6 Midi Mobilizer. midi would go through the PC with a USB to Midi interface.

edit: Just looked at the pics again and it will use the 1/8 Line 6 Style Midi Cables.

one thing i never liked about maschine were those freking light up pads
:?

Yeah I hate them too. Reminds me of the lame XR20. Hopefully the old style ones would fit/work or MPCstuff makes some for these new machines..

JAH,
dont you think thats a tad bit expensive for the MPC Fly? It requires an ipad which not everyone has, unlike the other 2 its safe to bet most users have computers, but ipads? not to mention most ipad apps are cheap, so most will expect the price to be lower (even if its the only thing like it on the market) and you dont really have much there.

Agreed. I put it at $150-199 USD @ The most.

At $200 or less, I'd get one for it's slimlined portability.

I've notice the negative talk has toned down a bit since the press release. Either many people are excited about the MPC Studio or....those that said they would never by an Akai/Numark MPC have finally gotten tired of saying this in every thread. :?:

I have been very positive about this whole thing from the start. When I first got the email from Akai mentioning the ren, i was a bit dissapointed. Thnig looks like the mpc we all want them to bring out... but then it was just a controller.

I can understand though and hope Akai will make lots of $$$ with this so that money can go to a real new mpc.

I'm sorry but I'm not convinced. Because based on your signature, you have an MPC 2000XL like me. 5 MPCs have been released since the XL. The MPC 2500 is a beast compared to the XL. I can't find one for a reasonabe price. What's your excuse?
