Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

So we're told that all new models include "genuine MPC pads" - but, apparently MPC now stands for Music Production Controller so how much value does that statement really have?

I'm worried by how similar they look to LPD pads, which have their place and it's not on a flagship model. They look right on the Fly but the Renaissance?

If they are neither LPD pads or OG MPC pads (don't see how they could have worked LEDs into the original design), then they must be something new. I'm pretty sure that last time Numark re-designed the MPC pads they were on the original MPC1000...

and we all know what happened next!

With Numarks history things don't look hopeful, but on the brighter side at least they are not SP1200 pads. I know it's useless saying that because Akai are not Emu and Akai would have no reason to step back in time ... but hey, I'm just saying!

If you do shows in less than normal lighting conditions, you don't think it would help?.

:D wouldn't resort to that, just change the pads just like on any old mpc

Who knows it seems only the sides light up instead of the whole pad; so there might be a contrast option to tone it down.

You can be sure it will have the same genuine design fail for MPC pads having gaps underneath that cause double and missed triggering, requiring pad fix.
