Araab Vs. ....

Decided to compile a list of finger drummers that are similar to Araab. Jeremy Ellis is about the one guy that I know that is possibly better than Araab, but only because he don't use mutes like Araab does. The first video in the list is also good.

Speaking of this, been trying to figure out what the best way is to map out the samples + drums:

Alot of the videos show tricks of mapping the drums, but i havent been able to find one that shows you how to map the drums + chopped samples.

there are loads of ways, but if you think of a drum pattern, it starts with a kick so you could either layer the sample on the kick or simult it.

there was also a jeremy ellis video where he took a 4bar beat with samples and chopped each bar into 4 parts spread across the pads.

Right! This is the only person that can play a drum machine and make it sound like a drummer is bangin' on a live set. No long samples being triggered. Hand/eye coordination and full use of velocity, and can do a 3-4 minute set with no mistakes without bustin' a sweat. David Fingers Haynes is not from Earth!

Not to mention that he is an absolute monster behind a drum kit.

I always wondered what it would sound like if he used an mpc 500... it would be like a super pro with a handicap.. haha.

i'm a huge fan of jel but yea...not even close. i closed my eyes and literally thought i was listening to a live kit.

nope. i'm pretty sure I've seen him on a 500. killed it. i could be mistaken though.

That haynes dude is crazy...havent heard anything as close to a live kit before.

I like Mike L from heres diggers anthem video it uses more than an mpc but he constructs a whole [dope] track with ease its one of my favourite mpc videos
