MPC 3000 and MPC 2000XL Same Price... What Would You Get?

i am in the fortunate position of being able to get one or the other for the same price... £550 or $990 (i think).

the mpc2000xl has 32mb, efx card, 8 outs, smpte and internal 250mb zip.

the mpc3000 i just stock with an external 100mb zip... but have asked how much memory it has...

i would like a 3000 due to its ledgendary status...

but the 2000xl seems to be the better deal in terms of what you get.

what are your thoughts?

get what will help you work better, you said 2000xl seems like a better deal and you would get the 3000 cuz it's legendary

if the 2000 got all the upgrades think how much it will cost to get the 3000 to the same status, with upgrades and 8 outs

get what will make your work easier, don't get the 3000 jus to say you got one, then again, you may be able to cop the 8 outs and memory for cheap on ebay

you gotta make a choice and i know it aint an easy one, depends on how much you want to spend, 2000 will be ready, 3000 will take a little more money, not too much

the 3000 should have 8 outs stock unless someone stole it......lol

Ill like to see a 3000 go for 1500 now days. The Le is the only one that will go for over that price.

but on the real get the mpc 3000 cause if you dont like it you will always find a buyer or a person that will trade his 2kxl for a 3k. Remember one thing that most dont like to point out and thats the fact most of the hit makers who use a 3k now days are also using a lot of synths(Jazzy pha,Dre,Lil John, Dj scratch, Track boyz) and the people who are doing alot of sample work are using a 2k or xl(kanye, beat nutz,heat makers,). I dont think the list of names proves any thing but i think the 2kxl has alot of stuff that makes it alot easier to work with samples. Its all about your style of work.

get the 3000, if use it right, u can use it as a synth.

3000 hands down. You can't remove the 8 outs from the 3000 without some serious screw driving.

the only upgrades would be the memory (32Mb) which for 30 you can get off ebay. and the vga output. Or was SMPTE an option as well?

, i didn;t know the 3000 came with 8 outs, cop that joint, don't it use the same memory as the 2k?, that's pretty cheap on ebay, man, depends on if you want wav editing and junk

Get the 3000..You'll hardly ever find a 3k for 1000 bucks unless there was something wrong with it...You wont regret it..

the mpc 3000 is not the le version - but thats no big deal in my opinion. thanks elmacaco for letting me know about the $30 memory upgrade... didnt realise it would be that cheap.
