Using MPC2000xl with Ableton LIVE 4.0

has anyone connected mpc2000xl to LIVE 4.0 and using it as sampler for LIVE midi clips but also using MIDI to turn on/off the clips in LIVE 4.0 and finally to also use the MPC2000xl as stand alone seqencer all in one go ..I am wanting to use the MPC as my backup primarily but might get creative on the fly and use same time as LIVE 4.0....

No........ I'm a bit confused as to what is controlling what in your description!!!! It sounds to me like you want to use two very different systems which are both great for live improvisation together, but I think you might find you slow yourself down trying to combine the two.

I find Live is great for time-stretching, but I then sample those loops to use in Logic, so sampling them in the MPC would be the same thing.


I've had my MPC slaved to Live 3.0 which was easy to set up.

I am using my MPC as midi controller for LIVE 4 audio/midi clips only at this stage, so will sync LIVE (master) to MPC (slave) and give it a go for a better setup
