MPC2500 VS MPC5000

first of all, im using a 500, hopefully soon, im looking to upgrade my mpc, the 500 is awesome and ive gotten used to it, and know it like the back of my hand.

however, i know it so well in a way that ive came to terms with a lot of its 'problems' and issues haha, buttons being half-broken, glitches in the software, power adapter chord being stripped (so if you move it too much it will cut the power to it..) but i still love it. but all in all, im ready to get something beastly i deserve

ive done a lot of reading, have been for months, and the 2500 looks like what i want to go with. HOWEVER

the 5000's synth looks really dope to me. not to mention the number of effects.

why does the 5000 get so much hate and if i had enough cash (not worried about price at the moment) why shouldnt i get the 5k over the 2500???

and i know i dont want to go with the 2000xl due to the zip drives and the fact that its such an older machine, i know its a great machine, but anyways

i came from the 500 and i bought the 5k, still learning the unit.
i love this thing... i have reason 6 and live 8 as well, plus a synth and many plug ins...
in the 5k you have everything in the box, that's so cool! ^^
everything sounds really good to me, from the master compressor to the synth.
effects are dope, it's not soundtoys or waves, but sure they sound good enough.
you must live with a maximum of 4 effects (you can set 2 at a time just like the in the 500) an just one insert for channel, plus the master.
all the synth's knobs send midi signals, the cycle feature is genius, drums really fell natural... the workflow is straightforward as well.
i was worried about the synth, but i must say it sounds awesome to me (i'm not a pro, but i have plenty of soft synth from arturia and NI to compare), and it's the funniest thing to play with i ever had.
if a i had to play a movie score or some really precise electronic music i would go software, but to play hiphop beats this is heaven IMO

ok, is there anyone who thinks i should rather a 2500 than a 5000? because beside the price being more expensive for the 5000 i dont see why or how the 2500 would be a better investment.

a 2500 with jjosxl is a beast. don´t know the latest version (osxl3) but version 2.30 is rock solid and has never crashed on me since it was released.

so if you want a stable os which is constantly being improved i´d say go with the 2500 (or 1000) and jjos.

As a guy that owned both, my choice would be the MPC 2500 because it has a smaller footprint and its not a must to have some of the highend MPC 5000 features. But if the MPC 5000 features are what you want/need, I would say go for it. The OS has a few bugs that you may or may not encounter depending on your workflow. But the same applies to the MPC 2500 w/JJ OS.
