So i just got a mpc 1k for 200 and ive learned a bit about it. I was thinking of getting a microkorg xl for sounds and what not and was wondering is that a good idea or should i go another route? Im getting a turntable soon so i can get some old samples.

get your turntable, start digging and then your only limited by your imagination. 8)

plus the Korg is not that intuitive (imo) you get them both and you'll spend all your time with your head in the manuals.

HAVE FUN!

Ok thanks for the input. Would you recommend something else over the korg?

you got G.A.S already.... it's a byiatch aint it 8)

- there's an endless list of cool toys out there bro. don't know where you are in terms of music making fun but remember you'll need something to put between your MP and that turntable. So keep your eye out for a DJ mixer, maybe some good quality headphones/monitors and you can never have enough leads/adaptors. Its quite good practise to buy gear to solve problems you come across while making music, as apposed to buying gear and then trying to involve it somehow/someway .

What turn table you recommend me to get for a max of 300?

Nope...the second "your" should be "you're"

Edit: whoops...too busy bullshittin' with these knuckleheads and missed your post. Really, if I were just startin' out, I'd find a decent turntable at a thrift shop- not really paying much attention to brands, and get it so I could start making music. So long as it plays steadily and the needle isn't a turd, you should be fine- plus you will have more to spend on vinyl.

IF I were to recommend a turntable...I'd say go for a Technic SL-D2. Super cheap and will get you goin'. :)

I haven't used a D3 before, but from looking on ebay for a second that seems to be about what you'd pay there, shipping included. I bet if you show up with $35 cash he'd bite.
