+1

I don't like the splash screen but I couldn't care, major props for extending the life of the machine. The price seems to be good too

If only my S-3200XL had such a nice fancy display instead of horrible backlit display

Easy there homeslice! Everything you've read about VGA cards in this thread have just been finger pullin' on our part (and wishful thinking)

Now, if envision is curious if people would actually be interested in such a thing, I'd have to say YES. :D

To be very honest, I don't like the "MPC Stuff" splash logo, neither. I wouldn't mind seeing the same sized "envisionelec" logo instead. Well, it is still very good news for MPC-2000 users! I hope it'll be ready to ship out soon.

I will add though, that I do think some sort of splash screen was needed for this upgrade (seeing that it's possible to have a splash screen) because think of it years down the road when buying a used machine... it acts as proof that the screen is in fact the upgraded one without needing to either open it up or to see a side by side of the old vs the new screen for clarity or brightness/crispness... in fact maybe a person buying one might not have ever tried an mpc to know this screen is a step up from the original so the splash screen is sort of like a certificate of authenticity.

I agree...though envision didn't scoff when I jokingly brought it up, maybe it's a possibility?

You nailed it. It also only lasts about 2 seconds. I honestly don't look at it until it's booted anyway. ;)

I don't scoff at good ideas. I just don't have any experience with other MPCs or know what's really popular. Plus, we're working on a couple other products for another industry at the moment. Until we add another employee or two, we can't handle more than a couple designs at once. :?

Understandable...glad to hear while it may be on the back burner as a possibility though. :D I think VGA expansions for the 3000 as well as other models would be quite a seller.
