I got the USB drivers & Ak.Sys to work just as badly in XP Mode as in the real thing 
My MPC4000 became "may have become disconnect" just as often as in XP

not really worked well for me. Even tho I got the thing working in xp mode, after I transfered data some of the files turned corrupt and didn´t play correctly after loading
pressing Buttons & Pads, turning Knobs, moving Faders

Not all systems are created equally. Meaning that it depends on what type of chipset you're working with that'll either fair well or present a problem.
There's other factors that play a part in this as well, but the chipset seems to be the root to this problem.
