Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

' 1.global program edit, this means selecting multiple pads at a time and editing the pgm parameters for those selected pads(tuning, sample assignment, etc.) - with a softkey function to select all pads - very very fast
2.ability to hear program settings in trim mode, so when you trim up a sample, you can hear what it actually sounds like with the program settings applied, along with your other sounds.
3.in NDC you have 'chops' which are essentiallly zones (from mpc2xl) that can overlap, be previewed together (each zone is assigned to differant pad - unlike mpc2xl where you have to move the cursor to differant zone).
4.new sample edit options (pitchshifting, stereo to mono w/vocal cancel, multiple stereo to mono)
5.NDC sample playback (L channel, R channel, Reverse, Stereo, L+R)
6.enhanced main screen layout (you can step/grid edit right from main screen and see the results)
7.export song to wav in song mode
8.mute groups, simult pad'

Er, Jah, can you advise me of what offical Akai OS does these ? And, which units currently ?? I've not seen it, which is why - I guess - JJ is as revered as it is on the MPC ... :?:

This thread is about what we like about the machines,if you dont like them, dont chime in,ur life is not in jeopardy because akai didnt make a different mpc for you to complain about. Besides skills make the machine, machines dont make skills. Me I'm glad akai is still in the game. The only mp that flopped to me is the 5000. Marketing and promotion, part of sales, they did not have your favorite producer in the video? Its not green wit blue lights? Come on man get over yo self. I like the fact it truly intergrates hardware & software,i can see&edit my sequence on screen,eq my drums on the fly, tweak samples with a vst filter,reverb,delay...man please.

Best bit of your post, for sure. I think it's more of a case that these units can aid your skills and further your smooth workflow. I wouldn't of said the 5K was a failure at all ... I fugged with it a few times and it was alright ... I'd rate the 4K over it, though ...

As for the post here, we all got opinions, I guess.

if i may (without being labelled a 'hater' )...
nobody has even used it yet - how can yall talk about what you like?

all that's being talked about is the promises made and the great many assumptions that people are making from the little official information that is available.

im just saying, of course the commercials are going to make it sound like it's awesome - that's the whole point. but every single feature they promise might in reality be a complete disaster.

having said that - i do like the fact that it appears to have a built in audio / midi interface. however, it remains to be seen how good the interface / midi ports actually are - so again, i cant even really say i like it yet :|

While this is a public forum, Rookie asked for you to refrain from negativity in this thread as there are so many other threads you have already trashed. Its only right for you to respect other forum members.

@inthemix,
create a new thread if you want additional questions answered. But in short, download the manuals for the MPC 5000. Global program editing, editing a sample in real-time while the sequence is playing, SIMULT pads, multipad select, etc are included. Expect the MPC Ren to have many of the functions of the MPC 5000 and more.

Who is JAH ? This guy's just walked into the forums and he is already proceeding to tell many of us seasoned members how and when to use the threads correctly - GTFOH !!

Thanks for your answers about the 5K - I have used it, albeit briefly and it wasn't a bad machine by any stretch, despite what some detractors had been saying about it ?

As for this thread, how can any one soul truly comment on the units until they've actually had a chance to check one out ? That about sums this entire thread up, period !

Now, yes, I will go start a new thread ... about something else more worthwhile at the current time  8)

look I get it, it kills your dream of unicorn...but tell me in what way do you see negativity in my question asking why this thing is being referred to as mpc ? maybe yall's is bit too sensitive or need to deal with bigger problems in life if this shit to you is negative ?

what other threads have I trashed that was on a serious topic?? by the way Jahrome did I get the boot from teh forums, or disappeared for a while. Im assuming you got that treatment for being extra positive or somethin ?

@Rookie my sincere apologies for trashing your thread or bringing negativity in here. I did not view my actions as such but seems that other may have. Im serious

but I'm still laughing about the whole situation

I have been a forum member approx 8 years longer than you. But this has nothing to do with you trashing Rookie's thread. Please be respectful to other forum members.

I do my best to comment on topics I know about.......

Or perhaps, you spend waaaaay to much time talking about something that you don't seem to care for instead of spending time with something you do care for. Thats not a good look. :?

We all have preconceived notions about what we like and dont like,as you and others have eloquently stated so far.example,I see girl, girl looks good I want girl, never been with her, but,I know what I like, based on looks and personality.same principle applies here fellas.

JAH, you being a bit of a rude c..t, quite frankly ... and you are doing it needlessly ?

You talk to me about respecting a thread, yet nothing was stated remotely disrespecting what the poster started with ?? You are on another planet, methinks ?

Ok, so you were a member before getting booted off of the forums for a longer period than me, so I guess you were invited to leave on the basis of your overly supportive and friendly forum etiquette and manner ?? Ok, maybe not !

Listen, before you throw your rattle completely out of the pram, I'll put an end to this by re-stating what I have placed ( respectfully ) in other similar threads about these new products : Once the units are out there and in use, then we can all judge a little better what is what ?
Now go and 'grow up', please !!
