Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I recently saw this on a japanese site/FAQ;

[ Q009 ] Can you read the data of the MPC2000XL with the MPC2000?
[ A ] As for APS " ALL DISK Requires newer OS! " As for.ALL " WRONG FILE! " With error coming out, it cannot read. It reads the.PGM.SND.MID, and it is possible.

So can I load an .ALL file on the XL (I can on the XL, cannot on 2000 for some reason), save each sequence as a .MID file, and then load the .MID file on the 2000? Would this result in getting the information of the .ALL into a format in which the 2000 will now read via SCSI? In theory this should work right? I'm at work now, but I'll try later. I'm curious if anyone has tried this.

It worked! Anyhow, I know it's not practical but since my friend has an MPC2000XL it'll be good enough. The XL loads *ALL* my .ALL files/Sequences that the 2000 no longer loads. I then save each sequence one by one on the 2000XL, load it on the 2000 with my original .APS and re-save to floppy as .ALL. I'm good to go.
