Akai teams up w/ iZotope for Ren timestretching capabilities

Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

Except that you can use realtime timestretch in Maschine RIGHT NOW while these new "MPC"s are still proof-of-concept, work-in-progress prototypes that won't see the light of day for a long time.

Yes, you have to wait for its Summer release like all other MPCs before it...like most products advertised at Namm. You won't have to wait 2 years for it like the Tempest. Maschine was available in limited quanties 3 months after its Namm debut in 2009 and widely available 1-3 months after that depending on where you lived.

So.....when did Maschine get updated to have time stretch? I plan on installing the update now. Then I cancontinue to use it while Akai solidifies it's "proof of concept".

Saint Joe was hyped about these new MPCs and he is a Maschine supporter....

Come the **** on, must you guys do this in every thread you both post in ( I mean to type infect). I'm sure both units have their ups and downs but damn, don't do 90% of all the threads you post in like this.

Am I gonna have to SOPA your post (in a very small way) in order to let the forum live and breath normally? (I'm laughing 'cause I said "SOPA" but for real though *still snickering*)

All of your posts (both of you) have been very civil and I appreciate that thanks, but, the constant back and forth and soon the thread delves into just the two of you bickering with a third person coming in sometimes to break up the thread tone (it never works).

Please don't make me SOPA a thread because of you guys' antics. :oops:

Steering this thread on topic again! I think that´s a smart move to license bits and pieces to get the best out of this hard/soft journey. I may buy one some day, but for now my 3000(hmhmsp1200) is the king of the studio!

outsourcing software and licensing a library are two totally different things. Ableton licenses Elastique for their time stretching. Logic licenses Radius. Just about everyone licenses the .Rex format.

Hi Dan. Gotta say, I've given Akai a lot of stick in the past but I'm very happy to see the direction you guys are going in to finally give Maschine some competition. I've also noticed that the quality of your controllers have been improving. I'm very impressed with the Synthstation25 as a controller for Nanostudio. It should have been CoreMIDI compatible though. I'd love to see a version with an audio input, and more products for the iPhone form factor in general and not just for the iPad.

The SS25 was released before CoreMidi was a thing, so we couldnt include it. Appla announced coreMidi right after we hit the shelves. If there's enough requests, we'd be glad to make a SS25 mk2. I'm taking notes, man! thanks for the kind words. wait till you try Max 49. no bullshit, that thing's pads are my new gold standard. they're awesome.
