Happy B-day bro! Good look on the Logic Pro 9 deal. I'm getting ready to buy it too. Just bought a Mac Mini 2 months ago after an old friend of mine who works for Propellerheads had them send me an NFR copy of Reason 6. I love Reason, but it still don't have MIDI OUT. So I can't track out my hardware with it, and the Line 6 amp models are nothing exciting for my guitars at all. Then of course, no VST or AU instruments. So Logic Pro covers all the missing ingredients and should complete my DAW. Can't wait to buy it and have that missing element of total integration that I need. :)

boss multitracks are dope man! i got a br-600(only retarded thing was it didnt have a clip light), and a roland vs-880ex and a 4/8track boss unit(i forget the model)..
ive used a few of my friends ones, he had one of the big dogs..

so simple and straight to the point.. plus the fx are always worthy..

only downside is usb1 when it comes to file transfers into a pc, plus 16 bit on recording. 24 bit is so much better for vox when it come to clipping etc..
not sure if that one has usb2 or not..

but good on ya man, u will find creativity will double stepping back from software, but untill u reach the limits you will be back soon enough..

im pro tools user 100% now when it comes to multi tracking. but if ur only two tracking your beats and recording vox, the workflow is sick! so fast to lay down a beat and rec some vox, do dubs etc..

happy bday mane! :P

How do you like the sampling in Logic? I have Pro 8, and I just don't understand it. Looks really confusing and messy. I use logic for one thing; the compressors. I dump the WAV file into it, apply my effects, bounce, and exit out!

try sampling with the exs 24 in logic.

open it up on a software instrument track then push the edit button (its on the top right hand corner next to the options button)

now it will open a black and grey thing that looks like a piano roll type window, click the drop down zone button and say load multiple samples, load em in and it should be pretty self explanatory from there.

in the piano/edit page you can set your samples to loop at different points, group them, ect. ect.

and @ mr. pleasant happy birthday man! you'll love logic once you learn how to use it.

heres a cool tip, if you push option+k it opens a window where you can see all the key commands, and you can even make your own from here.

i have mine customized to my liking.

logic is really deep if you want to really read into it, but its easy enough to get into right away if your not totally new to the DAW world.
