first of all.. im not suprised that an akai spy would overlook a bunch of great ideas when a decent thread idea can turn to utter nonsense forum talk about jah and akai dissing etc.. everytime lol
plz make a new thread for that shit instead of having 4 pages with about 1 page informative comments.. also im a bit dyslexic so half the comments some ppl do write up in one big unbroken paragraph are difficult for me too read.

after seeing the new naam videos, im all over the ren and my gear lust has gone up a few notches.
im loving how the chopping works with the rotary pots, that looks extremely fast to work with.
the 16 pots is a big attraction for me, as i love creating synth patches, not that im big on vsts, but i use logic and some synths every now n then.
although the downside for me is hooking up my controller with logic and mpc and getting it running smoothly, when i only use it so often so i just tend not to.
having 16 pots to map to a synth or to control common parameters inside the mpc environment is a godsend for me... ive been looking into one of those box's with 20+ knobs on it just for this thing.
improved time stretching has been overlooked for sometime with current mpcs, if im stretching a long sample i will mostly always export to my mac and import back in to mp to chop.. **** with my workflow in the process.
one thing i will have trouble with is the colored pads, as i am a bit color blind, but i never needed or wanted backlit pads so this is a very minor issue for me..
the price of 1299, is a little steep but i think if akai make good on their promises with soft-updates its ok. as they stated v.1 of the software should have all basic functionality and future updates should provide with more complex things.

i gaining faith back into akai, i think they have realised how shit they have been and are trying to step back up to the top of the throne again.. its not that hard, they have all the tools available and seeds planted, they just need to listen and apply!
i think it's time for an 'official feature request list for the ren/studio' thread
