but I'm still stuck on the brute. maybe because I already got an phatty. I saw Mike Acosta (the Roland / MV dude) demo the brute and if he hadnt said so i would not guess the brute was one osc they way you can mix the other wave forms and sub osc and metalizer and brute factor feedback loop.

The Minitaur seemed to demo better. Ultra saw seems great to have. Even not in person but coming through the video the Minitaur had more sonic personality then the Minibrute it seemed.

minibrute and minotaur are both beasts with different sonic capabilities. I'm leaning towards the minibrute.

On the Brute digital LFO and Arp for external sync with your DAW/whatever... such a necessary feature IMO. Really glad they offered this. My only criticism of my little Korg analogue boxes up until lately was how hard it was to control the tempo/LFO. So to have this included right out the box is cool beans. I'm very glad this includes a sub osc, which if you notice can be square or sine! Noiiice.

But sh*t that Moog sounds savage. The note sync feature is SO so sick! I really want to hear a few higher notes just to see how capable this is. The only thing that baffles me is that when I think of bass, my first thought is sine wave. I know you can get one through the filter resonance like he showed, but it's not the same as have a sine as a choice in the oscillator section. It looks like a fantastic size though, and you are of course getting that Moog filter which of itself is about £180 in a Moogerfooger pedal. The fact you can control every parameter via USB Midi is literally making me poo myself with excitement.

This is the hardest decision anyone has had to make in the history of the world ever.

I think, a handful of us- will end up with both at some point...then the real decision is- which one do we want first.

Yeah, I can see myself owning both at some point as well...running the 'taur into the brute is something I've got to try. I really think I am sold on the brute first, but I have yet to watch the vids that lamp posted.

I'm going to re-watch the videos now to clarify the USB-Midi control on the Moog. IF every parameter can be controlled that way it would sway me. You wouldn't need an Arppegiator if you were doing everything in Ableton like that because the piano roll would be an unlimited arp. Ok yes just confirmed that. I think they should really try and talk that feature up a bit more, I don't think I can even do that on my R3 and it's completely digital.

Whereas the Brute, you can only control the LFO and Arpegiattor.

I think I've found my winner. Unless the Arturia in UK retail price ends up being even cheaper.

In an ideal world I would probably own both too, because they are obviously very different beasts. I'm just trying to consider as a first investment which one would be the most capable all-rounder.

Balls this is tricky stuff. Can't believe two such great products have come up. Luckily we've got a couple of months until the Brute reaches the shops. Any confirmation on Moog release date? I know it says spring, but that's like March until July.

Bump for the UK heads, what the f*ck is this price about? At that the Moog is an absolute no brainer for £40 more.

am i understanding correct from the video (the namm one with acosta) or does he allude to the fact that minibrute doesn't offer patch storage?
(also forgive if this is mentioned in the thread)

I don't think either of them do Tape. No biggy, just don't touch any knobs and pray that nothing detunes overnight haha.
