Replaceing EL panel on mpc 3000 le

hi, i ust received a replacement el panel for the 3000 le. i started taking it apart, and am finding that in order to take the screen out of the mpc, i have to unscrew the main circuit board with the jog wheel and all the numeric buttons on it.There is a screw that i wont be able to get to unless i remove this panel. has anyone ever done this? seems like a big job, just taking a break to see if i can dig up some info on this procedure. any links or suggestions would be appreciated

anyone ever thing about creating a "modifications" sticky where all the info on 3000 mods can be consolidated into one thread? might be very usefull...

yea, just discovered the bible threads.... good stuff... And i just finshed the el panel replacement... it made a world of difference. and its something i hope to never have to do again... wow, what a ****.... i broke screws, couldnt get the srean mounted back properly... im just glad she works now that ive got her put back together.... phew!
