Hi xparis
nice to have you round
any 64 bit version of aksys coming out for your current flagship sampler?
a new os for your current mpc5000 flagship standalone sampler? akai tweeted something along the lines of this...and then a rep said in a video it wasnt coming...
any small little app developed by akai like mpc editor for different models of older mpcs? shouldnt be too hard seeing as ren is supposed to have the capability of importing odler model programs and samples

i understand you will probably be focusing on newer products for now....but theres a large community of current mpc users out there, not just a new one for the future generation..

ps....not to play devils advocate...by why the hell doesnt akai have some type of its own forum? nearly every other music manufacturer does....that would make customer contact with manufacturer much easier seeing as you guys tend to disappear from this one...no disrefect to this forum - tutors done a great job...however, from past experience akai workers tend to be visible on this site only when new products emerge, and then to disappear again....going on past experience i guess yer only here to push the new products

HI Gertie,

I'll answer your questions, and I'll be as honest and frank as I can.

first of all, thanks for the welcome.

1. there's currently no plans for a 64 bit version of Ak.Sys. Ak.Sys is only supported on 32-bit systems. There is no support for Lion in Ak.Sys.

2. I answered this question i na PM, to another user, but I'll answer it here as well. I'd like to release a 5000 update. I know there are issues that were found on the forum, and we want to address them. the issue right now is resources. we're working on compiling the issues and compiling fixes at this moment, but unfortunately, I can't say when this release will be available. As a personal goal, I'd like to see the MPC5000 OS released before the Renaissance hits the shelves, but this isnt something we can promise. thanks for your understanding. Please know, supporting the 5000 is a priority for us, and it will happen.

3. we dont have our own forum, simply because of resources. Akai is an international company, yes, but in the end, we have a small staff. we are just now starting to focus resources on e-marketing, as seen by our facebook page and twitter feeds, so if in the future, we can adequately support a forum, and be able to offer a good experience to users, then we'll consider it, but right now, its a matter of finding time.

in regards to why some of us come in here and leave frankly isnt because we're trying to sell something, its because usually, when a new product comes out, we're excited, and generally want to be part of the MPC Community, but of the three users who've tried to participate in here, each one had a negative experience, and the comments directed towards them became unprofessional, belligerent, and threatening. I'm here on my own time, not the companies, because I love the product, and I love what I'm doing. if it stops being fun for me in here, and becomes hostile, you couldn't blame me for leaving, right?

thanks for taking the time to reply and clarifying things :D

i for one wont be hunting you out..... 8)

could well be an idea for this forum to have a subsection.....ask the akai rep
where people can post questions, in a polite manner, any posts are rude or out of order being deleted....would be good for the mpc fam to have some sort of relationship with the akai parents.....and say the most interesting questions deemed by akai get answered once a month....you all gots busy times ahead for sure

maybe now you got 10 programmers on board for the new products, and when they become a resounding success...there could be scope for the standalone mpcs :) however one step at a time

good luck with the new range!

Im kinda curious about that myself. I think this forum would be an obvious answer but what other forums have they also been checking.

Hmmm...

I think its pretty obvious that they for sure check and roam around these forums.
This is the biggest MPC community on the net.

They have accounts on here.

Also, with all the petitions the people have made on here I can only imagine.

NYM also crafted the pad fix for the 1k

We are also huge endorsers of JJOS

The arpeggiator is a funny thing. its a great thing to have on hardware, but for the software, i'm not sure how we'd engage it, as it's usually reserved for midi tracks, but then i could see someone wanting it on vsts too.

as to audio tracks, this will come in an update, but not version 1.0. Direct recording to ram will be available, however. disk streaming will come later.
