Anybody in the Bay Area want to tutor in MPC 3000 usage?

That's half the fun man. Lock yourself in a room with some records and develop your own workflow.

I printed out the PDF at a print shop and got a binded book for whenever I need to reference something as well.

Definitely appreciate the feedback. Have been reading the manual on iPad, watching videos, and playing a lot with the MPC3K for past few days, so feeling more solid. That said, am also in college, with shit-tons of homework, so there is a lot to be said for speed-learning from an expert.

Just get down with the basics and everything else will run smoothly. I mean I can't stop you from getting a teacher but its not needed.

the guy is asking for a teacher - he might not be doing it because he's lazy, maybe thats because thats the best way for HIM specifically to learn. I personally look at manuals and don't always find them very user friendly so can understand why he would ask. do agree though, always best to give it a go yourself first - that cash could be spent on upgrades for the 3000.

I DL'd a sample king's tutorial for the 3000 - found it useful, will prob get some more for my s950 and ASR - when it comes to learning the more methods/materials available the better, you learn different thigns from different sources.

So far the 3000 seems like a simple logical machine and am getting along just fine, glad it doesn't have a gazillion menus like newer machines. suits my tiny simple mind.

3000 as such a nice feel to it its real fun just to spend the time on it.
