Maybe we can post what are the must have traits of the new ren/studio in our opinion
Timing!must be as tight as legacy Mpcs .
Groove and swing also.i hope these new Mpcs won't suffer from that stiff robotic feel many computer programs seem to have.i know there are those who say any sequencer can swing like an Mpc .....but in my experience nothing does .......nothing is as easy and swift .when the idea is in my head it needs to come out as soon as possible too much fiddling destroys the vibe for me. Watching araab Muzik tap on the ren seemed a little off.....I'm not sure what it was but something wasn't right.....he wasnt as quick or confident.hmmmmmmm?why
Latency....! A major concern for me! I need it to be as quick as a stand alone.no delay .
Sample quality ...it can't sound as dull as a 4k...the 5k sounds a lot better to my ears.kicks have to knock ,snares have to crack,bass has to thump,highs have to lay.I say this because my 4k 2k never sounded as rich as the 3k 2xl 5k.but I guess this is more about nothing...worst case we have sound cards to deal with that.
P.s.
I wish u guys would have made all 8 banks available without shift....imagine people like Arab doing a live set having to push shift to access the other 4 banks..or just blaze loading hundreds of drums when creating.searching for that right snare just became not as effiencent ...instant access to all 8banks makes more sence !this is a killer feature of the 4k! Thx Akai again for listening for what I see u guys are going to change the game again......just remember keep the famous tightness,groove and swing....it does exist!!!!!!!lol
