tbh can't watch his videos more than few secs cuz he's raging about Beat Thang and how shitty everything else is...

This guys just mad because he's Beat Glang has already been eclipsed by a product that aint even out yet.

This dude is crazy... LOL... but I agree with him on one thing..

Nobody made a beat on the new MPC's... that was kinda weird to me. Saint Joe and Flux asked a million question's... which were very informative but why didn't they ask to make a beat on it?... why didn't the sale rep make a beat???

I saw one video were a Akai rep tried to do something... I don't know if it was a beat he was trying to make... but that didn't turn out to good. LOL

Every time I would watch a new MPC Ren video I would say... "Why doesn't somebody make a beat?"

Then I read somewhere that the software wasn't ready and that's why nobody made a beat.

If the Akai software wasn't ready enough for someone to make a simple beat with a... kick, snare, clap, hihat, 808... and add some swing... than maybe the new MPC's shouldn't have been at NAMM.

PS... I still think I'm going to get the MPC Ren though... LOL

Actually some hated beats were made in the first promo videos they were not just jumping around! And I one of the saint videos he is just playing around with stock sounds?

Anyways the same argument would have been made if the demos weren't shown at the namm. Who even has a beat thing????

This must be your first experience with Namm....prototypes are showcased at these events. In the videos, they showed you two versions of the hardware and said that all the features of the software were not implemented yet.

The MPC Ren is coming out this year so it makes sense to showcase the prototypes at the biggest musical event of the year.

I'm not one to shit one peoples beats, but he's not even doing anything advanced or intuitive or highly technical AT ALL! He barely even chopped the sample up. All the shit he talks about MPC's, he should be making that BT **** scream with something amazing or at least display some type of features/workflow that actually show why the BT is supposedly so great!

He has a long winded but fair point, it would've been nice to see a more in-depth run through of the features working. Andy Mac did a good job of going through those functions but there wasn't a huge amount of them actually being demonstrated.

Comparing it to the Beat Thang though I mean come on, of course they "had their sh*t together" it's been about 30 years in the making haha.

This is true. However, it's not like the joints are coming out this month. We still have a whole half of a year to go. So I think it's way too early to keep making videos complaining about them not showing in-depth use of something that isn't even completely done yet. They still have a long time before release and I'm sure there will be more demo vids! If anything, we should be lucky that they are showing us anything at all still in the creation process. Most companies don't let you know/see shit until the product is actually done and ready to sell.

Akai really had to show something at NAMM because of the stiff competition and so many of their core users jumping ship.They generated a lot of hope and excitement, but it is a little frustrating to us because the final products won't be available until the middle or end of summer 2012.It is a double-edged sword because the competition will have a lot of time to respond.As others have stated though we all benefit from the competition and having companies push the technology envelope while trying to meet the increasing demands of their customers.

This is a major factor in the whole scheme of things!

For the past decade, Akai MPCs debut at Namm (generate excitement) and made available during Summer/Fall.
