Thanks to all of you who have spent the time searching for bugs, reporting them, discussing and expanding on feature suggestions, sharing tips and tricks, helping newcomers, and just overall being a real team. If it weren't for everyone who became interested in the JJ OS, it wouldn't have evolved to what it is today. Chances are, it may have been left in it's original form, before it was called JJ OS (Nym came up with "JJ"), and even before it was called MPC1000 NEW OS. Back in December '05 and January '06, the first betas were discovered. They didn't give the MPC all its functionality. Instead, it loaded into some kind of a MODE function. One of them was called Wave Prayer or something like that. Anyone remember that? There were about 2-3 different binary files to experiment with, and many people including myself were hesitant to try it, as it wasn't known who the programmer was or if the binaries would damage our MPCs. If none of us got up the balls back then to experiment, we wouldn't have the OS we have today. 6 years later, it just keeps getting better. I'm really excited to see what's next in that empty field where OS 2xl ver. 2.27 was residing. It now just reads "JJ OS"... no "OS3", or anything like that. Now to just have it read "JJ OS" implies that we're looking at the definitive JJ OS.... the "be-all, end-all" of the JJ OS. It's possible that JJ's skills have improved upon finding something out within the existing code. But keep in mind that I'm merely speculating here. We'll know soon enough. Something major is coming.

I remember I tried the Wave Prayer one time but almost forgot everything about it. Otherwise according to a topic in a famous french forum, files were named "Wav Prayer1000, VoiceChanger1000, SimpleSampler MS1000"

Wait a second... were you the one who originally posted about this in the MPC1000 forum? I remember the names of the binaries, now that you mentioned them , and i also remember it being mentioned first on a French forum, according to what I read back then as well. So you're the O.G.(Original Gangsta) that put us on to JJ?

Haha no it wasn t me

I don t remember where I read about it first. If it was here, it was probably on the first semester of 2006. At that time on the french side, someone called freezerman (I think he is/was a member here too) was knowledgeable and very helpful.

Hi all! Just stopping by to check my PMs.
Its amazing that its been 6 years of development of the JJos and to see that alot of the oldies still is in and maintaining the forums aswell.
Cool to see all the new users too. 42375 users in total. i thik there was like couple of thousand when i registered in 2005. These days i mainly use the mpc1k with my modular as a MIDI to CV/trigger interface and i don't even remeber when the last time i updated the JJ. a couple of years ago i think.

I'll keep an eye out for the presumed final version though.

Cheers!
I haven't seen some of those members here in a long time.
Good to see you back and still using the 1000.
It's still my main hardware piece. I sold everything else but the MPC and the x0xb0x. I'm using Reason 6 for all my other synths. But I'm looking forward to buying the MiniBrute this year. That'll be a fun addition to the minimal hardware setup I've kept. :)
