Compatibility between the 5k and the 60

Hey, whats up? I currently have an MPC5k and am considering a straight trade for a 60. I've owned a 60 before and I definitely miss it, so I kinda know what I'm getting into, but something I don't know is if the 60 can read .seq files from the 5k? I'm sure it can't read the pgm files (or can it!?), but rebuilding kits is easy, re-sequencing songs sounds miserable. Any ideas on what a good way to go about this might be?

I'd want money + MPC 60. Even if it was maxed out I'd have a hard time trading straight up.
I believe you will have to rebuild all of your songs..... Your best bet would be to finish those songs in the 5K before you trade. Just my .02

Yeh, I wouldn't imagine there's much (if any) compatibility between the 2, but unless you can find a definitive answer from someone who has done the same as you, I would finish your songs up in the 5k and start from fresh with the 60. I wouldn't wanna risk it. Yeh 5ks seem to go for quite a bit more than 60's man, I wouldnt be doing a straight swap unless the 60 was maxed with scsi and a cf reader.

Thats kind of what I was expecting. The songs are about as done as they can be on the 5k, so now is definitely the time. I always get a little twitchy about not being able to go work on something later (even though I hardly ever do). I've also got a z8 sitting here, so I'm not too worried about anything. Anyway, thanks for the quick answers. There is a small chance he'll let me have both for a weekend or something, so I may be able to put a definitive answer on this.
