Yes Andy,

1. Will the Ren software be available by it's self?

2. Can I use a legacy MPC to trigger the REN Software?

3. Roughly what month are you aiming for this to drop in the UK?

Welcome to the boards Andy, nice to have you here mate. Good work on your demo by the way, I mentioned it somewhere else but it was the most concise I'd seen in terms of listing the features and their uses.

I asked in another thread, but I'd just like to know a bit more detail about the emulations and how they work.

What process did the tech heads go through to model the emulations for example? Feel free to be as nerdy as humanly possible with all this.

Also, are there any videos floating round that show any of the new series being used to do the bread and butter MPC functions. Sampling, chopping and a quick sequence for example, but without the computer screen being on. I know it sounds a bit odd, but I'd really like to see a demo of how useful the hardware is if you choose to work without your main monitor on.

The software only works with the MPC Renaissance or Studio which is the whole purpose of the integration between the hardware and software which gives you the MPC workflow from both angles. The FLY software can transfer any beat created inside the ipad software direct into the MPC software for project completion.

Shipping will be soon :-)

You cannot use your MPC as a controller with the software. The Renaissance and Studio only work the software together.

Hope that answers your questions

Thanks for taking on questions Andy! Much appreciated. :D

About the software, will there be any compatibility issues that renaissance/studio owners may encounter when trying to import sessions from the Akai software into their main DAW for further mix down?

Hi Andy,

Will the MPC-REN be able to open Zip Disks created with the MPC-3000 or 2000XL and access multiple partitions?

Thanks.

No.

I'm working on the Beta team so all feature sets will be 100% running.

I've read some posts in regards to the software stability but its truly amazing. Remember I'm a heavy 3000 user and this is the integration I've been waiting for, same as most MP users.

The work flow is unbeatable.

Yes it will read every MP from the 60 through to the 5000. This is one area which we've paid great attention to making sure the SND files load correctly in the same format from your 60,3000. Ie tuning, levels, pan, filter etc. I've already loaded some old 2500 program's and they loaded straight in with all the correct zones on each pad etc.

Andy, Y'all are making it hard for me... The studio is perfect for traveling and boring hotel stays, airport lay-overs and delays... but the ren has the emulation modes. That makes me want the Ren instead. Question is, Despite the Studio not having the I/O circuitry of the mpc 3000 (or any IO for that matter), Will the studio have the same vintage MPC emulation modes via SW?

Also, the 6GB of sounds, who'd you all partner with to create the sounds?

Thanks Andy,

So are you saying that when I buy the REN and use the software standalone on my laptop I won't be able to plug a keyboard in and trigger sounds or map my controllers?

The zip disc questions is very interesting. Unfortunately Mac will not read past partition 1 so you will need to do what I'm doing! USB ZIP DRIVE.

Once it's inside the MAC you can load all prg and files inside the software.

Wait...I'm confused. Was this in response to mine, Rogue's, or kdotson's question?

The hardware does allow 3party control ie keyboards etc through the Midi in/out so this is how it works.

On the MPCs we can run on a track either MPC mode as we all know or MIDI. Now on the software when it's in MP mode on the track you are using the sounds on the pads for your beats......when you switch the setting to midi yu can now sequencer your outboard modules through the MPC software same as when we would drive the hardware seq back in the day. Now the next mode is the killer........

When you select PLUG IN we can now load up VST!AU etc like gladiator or Nexus and sequencer our synths and stuff n the sequencer software........
