Mpc pgm maker users

Hi all, just wondering what you guys think of this pgm and if you have any problems with transfering from mac-> mpc. Also what version of OSX are you running.

I ruined a few zip disks and (eventually) realised it was my usb drive that was ****, crossed that option for a while but have since decided to revert back to the transfer of files from computer-> mpc and back.

And how do you format your zips for the least possible corruption outcome. ie leave as pc formatted disks or format in mpc (or mabye use the iomega software that comes with your drive)

on a sidenote does anyone know where i can buy a scsi-> usb connector?

no your not the only mac user here, there's quite a few of us. ...and no i have absolutely no problems running OS X 10.3.5 and didn't have problems on 10.2... either.

i'm using a internal CF Card reader, so i can't help you with the zip.

Do not put your Master MPC Zip disks into your Mac or PC. Use a special set of disks for transfering back and forth. (These can be PC formatted.) The Master disk is the MPC formatted disk containing your songs, programs and sounds. There is an explanation, but I'm pooped. If you search my name here, you'll find the details. I've written about it a couple of times here.

Oops. I just put my main MPC Zip in my Mac yesterday. Backed everything up to HD, put the Zip back in the MPC and all was fine. I've also used MPC PGM maker a few times, without any trouble...

Safety may depend on some of the utulities that may be running on the Mac. I did a recovery for a MPC Zip that was inserted in a Mac that was apparently running Norton Disk tools or something like that. It rewrote all the directory entries making it unusable to the MPC.

I don't know what specifically happens and when, but I know that there is an issue with the way the MPC formats and creates partitions and the way the Mac and Windows handles partitions that is different. Sooner or later, the Mac or Windows PC will write something to your MPC master disk's partition that will ruin the way the MPC sees its partitions and then, you are outta luck. To be safe, use more than one Zip disk.

Gotcha. Maybe I was OK because I don't use partitions anyway, just a bunch of folders on root level.

Can't say it enough, some people just have to learn the hard way.
Hopefully you'll catch on before that happens.
