Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

hi guys

possible nooooob alarm here... but the metronome is killing my ears.
I like it set to level 7 to 10, but every time i power up the mpc, the first time i hit rec this loathsome sound kills my ears and i have to go and lower the metronome level manually. why can't the mpc remember the level of the click? Am I doing something wrong?

thanks

Ive only been using the 2000xl for a few months so maybe im not the right person.. but from what I know the 2000xl doesnt store user settings unless you actually save them to your zip/floppy disk/media card then load them when you're about to make a beat. i dont think it has any internal memory (not counting the RAM) at all.

that's what I was thinking.
pretty pissed off that i always have to re-set the midi settings every time I power it up. It really seems that it is not able to store user settings.
if it wasn't for the swing and sound I would have already sold it.

im not 100% sure on what all you can store, but i have stored settings on mine - for example my sequences all default to 4 bars.

you could make the adjustment, save an aps file with no samples, and drop it in the root of whatever is in your machine when it boots up.

this will allow you to save all kinds of settings, even program / track names and parameters.
