Effects of MPC Renaissance on Urban Market

I'm glad the mpc renaissance is coming out. I use Maschine now, but was using the 2000XL before that. I was thinking as far as urban producers, I can see producers switching to the ren and some still on Maschine. I can see a lot of producers ditching their daws for those two to make beats only. What do you think

Cakewalk, give it up. Your daw is nothing, but bloatware. The workflow is garbabge. Ableton you tried doing too much and look at Live 8 now. Presonus Studio one is good, but Presonus your hardware sucks. Look out Teddy Riley, might just switch to the renaissance and then dump his tracks in Pro Tools. Pro Tools and Logic is whatever. Just a little rant...

If you can bounce midi tracks to audio maybe but I don't see it yet cuz the summing engine on the series has to be at least as strong as the major ones. Wishful thinking though!

I use the MPC2000xl and I never left it for Maschine, that would be crazy on my part. I don't like Maschine nor NI as a company. bad history with them.

Oh you're going to get a lot of cats getting the Ren and Studio trust that. Speaking of Teddy Riley here goes!!!!! lol

As long as any software bugs are minor and there are no latency issues then a lot of producers will use the Ren or Studio. I can't wait to try one out. I'll know right away if its right for me or to just stick with my 2500 and JJOS.

I agree, it will have it's glitches I am sure but I am sure they will fix them also because if they don't Akai may as well hang it up as a company. Numark/Akai better be on their job.

yeah alot of peeps will switch over some keep they equipment cos they collect shit or they dont like new shit but there is no issue with latency with maschine and i expect none in the ren.

dont see peeps ditching daw's for it they will just export wavs into they daw,.

but this is defo the next big thing all the machine producers of recent will likely get a ren as well.

the hardware is already on point just gotta make sure the software is clean cut an its gravy

I don't know why people feel they owe any allegiance to one brand or one product. It's simple, you give them money and in return they give you a product. You don't owe them anything else or any loyalty. If anything, using something different for a change lets you see where your original piece of gear can be improved. I guess it'd be different if you owned stock in a company. But I don't, and I doubt anyone here does, own stock in any of these gear companies. So I simply use what works best for my needs at the time. Simple as that.

Because now they know where they can pick up in the areas Maschine slacked off. And being Maschine users, we can help them do that. All they have to do is just listen and the product will kill!

I can't see people letting go a of a fully fledged DAW for this. They will simply integrate it via the VST option, providing it's stable enough when it comes out.

Why is this limited to urban producers? What about those rural producers who live in the countryside?

That's exactly what I've been telling people on these message boards. Competition is always good for the consumer. You see it took NI to make Maschine for Akai to wake up. And hopefully they woke up a sleeping giant. Before this Akai was content with ignoring the consumer because they could get away with it. There was nothing out there that was messing with the mp. Alot of mpc users wanted easier integration with their computers, but not having to straight click on a mouse or just use an mpd. NI listened saw a lane and did their thing. Now thank god Akai woke the **** up and hopefully do what NI did but just do it better.

The MPC Ren with the software is basically a DAW. You can do vocals via XLR inputs into the HARDWARE, Effects, you can use it as a stand alone and use VST/i's, editing screen etc. It will have all what a DAW has. Some will ditch their DAWs and some won't, I will be the one that won't. I have Reason 6 which if I make my music using the Ren I will export every track and drag and drop it into Reason 6 so I can use the SSL9000K mixer and some of the other nice stuff in it. Then there are those that are buying for the first time, get this and never use a DAW this will be their DAW.

Word Teddy gave up Protools for Studio One? I didn't know that. Akai is going in Big!!!!

I know you made this general and being I am general of the people you speak of I will explain it to you like this.

MY first encounter with my first MPC was the 2000 got rid of that and got the 2000XL. Ever since I had it, I basically perfected it and know it inside out. No I don't feel loyal to no company because my #1 rule is never be loyal to any company where it's your job etc. Only family and certain friends get loyalty, what I am is dedicated to MYSELF, which I will perform a great performance whether it's music or a 9 to 5 whatever. No company is loyal to an employee and I have learned that.

So that being said, I am loyal to myself and dedicated to my music, the tool I choose is the MPC2000xl and don't need another tool. Why should I ditch the MPC for Maschine? The MPC suffice for me and I can make up anything I hear in my head so their is no need to go to Maschine. Maschine for me doesn't feel right, I didn't like it's sequencing, nor how it's built, it just doesn't feel good. What's more important is I DIDN'T NEED TO SWITCH! I like that machine because I love the feel of it and being I have the thicker pads on the MPC it makes it feel even better. So what you think is loyalty on others is not, maybe some but not all.

IF Ima improve something it's not trying to jump to the next rumored thing, IT'S GOING TO BE MY SKILL! That's more important that trying out new gear, been there done that and sick in tired of it. As you said you work with best fit your needs and so do I and others and the MPC is it and Not Maschine. Plus I have had some bad experiences with NI and will not mess with them, I don't need them I got everything I need.

Well, I was speaking of both sides; MPC users mad about Maschine, and Maschine users mad about MPC. Everybody has different needs. Dudes just get too serious over this shit sometimes!

On that note, I'm not made at Maschine, and I don't care for it, not my cup of tea. I mean really though. No the way I said it is what I meant as explained why I didn't like maschine. That's YOU'RE MIND THINKING I WAS COMMITTING SOME FORM OF TREASON! Again I don't like Maschine because a terrible experience with NI, I didn't like the feel, the sequencer wasn't poppin for me nor did it feel good under my finger and it felt flimsy. I am saying this for the 2nd time, I gave you reasons why so how is that SOME FORM OF TREASON ? SMH
