I've worked with many top producers and artists over the years so if you need any advice about how the MPC works in a studio environment please feel free to ask. I'm not just an MPC head! lol

But what i can say is.....

The Renaissance will be the cross-over we've all waited for. I was personally assigned to run the London Producer Sessions with Dan here is the UK so when you watch the video all the expressions are real. We took a core bunch of producers through the product at the early stages which originally started in the U.S to make sure the product we designed is the MPC of the future....Which is to give every hardware MPC user the same feel and workflow but inside the DAW world.

I'm glad to share my experience and passion with this product with all the users around the world. I love this forum and how we can talk directly with all the users that make these products legendary........

I will be here most evenings so please feel free to send me PM messages or direct on a post.

Andy Mac

Nice, not too many Amek BC 2 users around....instead of cluttering up this thread with Amek talk, I've pm'd you if that's Ok. :)

lol ahh well, you dribble, shoot and hope for the best! lol

@Andy

What audio interface you running and what plugin comps you feeling for holding bass and punching them kicks?

I still prefer analog outboard for those tasks as I struggle with ITB drum work.

Is there a build in harddrive or are all samples stored on the pc? If you sample thru the ren will the recorded sample dirctly send to the pc via usb?

Hi Andy, can you tell us how working with VST synths are handled with the software? As we know , some VSTs can be serious cycle hogs. Without audio tracks or a freeze do all of the synths and effects have to be processed in real time with the sequence?

How much sequence and sample edit data will be available directly available from the Ren's screen? Chopping, truncating, sequence data etc.

Thank you guys for sticking around and dropping some answers.

I've been running the HD192 for about 6-7 years from the board. The 3000 goes into the console then i normally track through the API lunchbox.

Nice to meet you!

The VST instruments are selected from the Track page. You will have the option to select either MP mode/Midi or Plug in.

The plug in will be your Virtual Instrument so yes this will depend on your computers processor. Remember Virtual I's are getting so large and powerful even my Mac struggles to run a bunch of Nexus and Gladiators.

It depends how many your trying to run.

One of my friends is running over 16 Nexus plugs in one session with around 50 live Audio tracks with about 30 plugs running...

Remember to mix the old skool way.......

Bounce things down and use Buss groups and Aux send and returns. Try to avoid loading reverb plates on every channel etc. You can save on loads of processing when mixing old skool.

I'm sorry for beating the dead horse with another stick, but since it was already brought up and you are both in this thread

The vintage mode in all honor, and it sounds like you guys actually but in some work into it. I also love the fact how one can import all MPC formats into the Ren, however there is still that one little piece missing.

Why oh why is there not a utility to read/write and format akai MPC partitions with on removable media? It would be a lovely selling point for the new software and even better gift to the community as a standalone tool.

Right now we need to rely on a third party piece of software to read and write partitions on a PC (not everyone has a mac). As mods became more common, so did larger storage media. For example, not many people are rocking floppys with their 2000XL anymore, it's all about CF cards now.

The only real problem we face now is, sure the Ren can read all formats but how do we transfer all our partitions to the computer? Looking past simply the upgrading to Ren selling point. A way of managaing partitions on newer removable media is long over due.

Include it in the software or sell it as standalone app, but just make it happen. Yes there is atleast one third party software that can do these things, but a dedicated app would be a better solution.

A question about the software working only with Ren&Studio... does this mean that the software (AU or VST is what im thinking of) needs the controller to be plugged in to start? Let's say the studio I share with my friend has the MPC Ren and I bring it home, then my friend can't load the previous projects made with the ren since its not connected? Or will it still load up and play what has been made?

Please shed some light on this and i would be very happy. I'm currently using the 2500 and would really like to buy either the Ren or the studio as this a product ive been waiting for! Thanx for appearing on the forum btw, these new mpc's is the future.

This is something we can look in to, but reading non-standard formats wont be available in 1.0. In the meantime, the third party utilities is the way to go im afraid.

The software will only look for the controller on first startup. after that, the software will run freely without the controller attached.
