So what is it you all love about the MPC 3000 so much???

looking to get shot of 2KXL cos i can't get on with it, and I want something easier to use

looking at an MPC 4K, MPC 3K or the Roland MV 8000 which looks like the favourite right now

nah man, mv800 is kinda wack! I would go with a 3000 or a 60.Make sure the 60 has 3.10 and expanded memory, scsi would help too, but it's not necessary. Oh nevermind, if you lookin for something easier, stick w/the 2KXL.

the OS is what i like about it the most..
build quality is way better too but that doesnt really matter to me...

get what you feel comfortable with, the MV8000 aint wack i just aint a mpc

it sequences different, it's linear, but you can loop on it and copy the parts you loop, it's got fx on it, and audio tracks, it is far from wack, but also it is far from an mpc

I think the MPC4k is the best machine at the moment.

Dunno about the 3000, I've never used it. But the 4000 is as easy as it possibly can be with that many features. I have a feeling it will get even better with the coming OS upgrades.

Do you have an XL now? Is that what you are saying? How long have you had it?

if you cant work the XL, i doubt jumping to a 3000 is going to do you anything. the 4000 is pretty easy, but that would be too much for you. too many options and stuff. i would only recommend the 4000 after you pretty much know how to work the XL. the best thing i like about the 4000 is it's grid-step edit.

ya dont need a 2k to work with a 4k. thats nonsense! Just go to the store or mouse to ebay and get that 4k! You wont regret it.

you dont really need a 4k or a 3k to make hot beats. just keep making beats with the 2k.

yeah i've had it about a year now.... i dunno how much longer though! That Roland MV-8000 is looking quite useful!

I dont think that its the mpc 2k xl or the mpc 3k or the mv 8000. I thinks its you and you need to look at yourself deep inside. You said you wanted to get rid of the 2k xl and maybe get a 3k cause the 2kxl must be a lil hard to get a grip on. At the same time your now thinking about getting a mv 8000 but that machine with all of its features would and should be harder to learn than the mpc 2k xl. having a 3k dont mean this guy is better than me with my 2k xl and have 2kxl dont mean im better than guy with a 1k or mv cause at the end of the day its all about the person who puts in the work. The mv and 4k will make some things easier as far as sampling and bpms or what not but i have ate cats with 4ks food on the beats and i have seen cats with fruity loops eat cats with 3k's food only because they understand the machine and had the skill to make the music all they really needed was the sounds or samples. You can get a mv or 4k or 3k but at the end of the day you still cant trade yourself in for something new all you can do is practice to get better!
