If this will turn into another bashing thread I'll lock it.

for how long is akai "listening" for?

and how long past the ship dates will they continue to?

We'll "Listen" as long as the feedback we get is "constructive". :)

that sounds "fair"... i hope you guys will continue to respond to inquiries just as long...

hopefully you guys'll be around here in a few years when i catch up to caring about the details... :D

i would suggest that akai start a users forum, but at this point, this place is way better than that idea could ever be...

So...which MPC are you getting....Fly, Studio, or the flagship Ren?

lol.

calm down jahrome.

not enough data to commit to any of these machines yet imo. im not that excited to jump on a new product... especially given the history of updates and support with this company... and to be honest, i feel ive got all i need... except for some motivation and inspiration...

although its nice to see some akai "reps" interacting and addressing the relevant inquiries, i just hope the "mingling" isnt a limited time phenomenon...

that was my point, and im sure someone has already made it somewhere in this fast growing new forum section... :)

the question i have for you now jahrome, is which one arent you buying? or maybe even how many duplicate units are you already committed to?

Its already well known I must have the MPC Ren. I will be upset if I don't get one of the first that hit the streets. I will most likely get two. One I will have it customized by Forat. Perhaps get him to add the actual AD/DA converters of the MPC 3000.

Plus you'd lose the 24 bit/96 kHz rates, which would probably cause issues with the software as well!

why not three?

I will buy two MPC Rens immediately. But I am not buying a third unit until I am sure Akai will support it for 25 years.

Rather than start a new thread, I have one question regarding the new MPC RENAISSANCE.

Would it have been better to put USB 3.0 or Thunderbolt as the computer interface on the Renaissance instead of USB 2.0? Basically "future proofing" the new flagship.

ps - I'm still ALL hardware synths/samplers. My first MPC was the 60 bought new when they were first introduced. Now everything is centered around my maxed out MPC4000 which I'll probably never sell...

I know I've been missing the boat by not using computers/soft-synths etc., and the new Renaissance seems like it will be the perfect bridge between working the way I've been for years, and finally getting into everything I've been missing out on by not using computers. I'm really hoping Akai does a great job with this, and the OS is rock solid with NO freezing/crashing so it can be used live as well as in the studio.
